This is gripe day. Back in July, my daughter’s phone literally broke. She had problems with it for 2 years, had it replaced once, but it took a while for it to start messing up like buttons not working. Two weeks after she got the new one, it quit working and Verizon replaced it. Then my hubby’s phone was almost completely shot so he got one back in August; 4 weeks later it quit working – something about the antenna going out. They could not replace it from the store but had Fed-ex send a replacement – was supposed to be here in 2 days. Well, I waited and no delivery guy came so my hubby called Verizon only to find out that “yes, the driver attempted delivery but no one came to the door so he left a note.” That was NOT true! I had the door open most of the day and no one came up to the house. I kept a careful watch for him looking out the door about every 10-15 minutes and going out on the porch at least every 30 min, sometimes more. No delivery trucks even came down our street until later in the day (a UPS truck) as we live on a cul-de-sac. We can hear them when they drive by. They make a very distinct sound.
This whole thing ticks me off because Fed-ex said that the guy would call me to make another attempt to deliver the phone today – ANOTHER? You have to make one before you can make another one, right? Earlier in the year we had a delivery from Fed-ex w here the guy came up to the door and left a hanger thing but did not ring the doorbell or knock on the door. I happened to hear something on the porch and opened the door to check but the guy had just gone. Weird about that, the time of delivery that he put on the hanger had not yet passed. In other words, he was putting a future time on the hanger and then did not bother to try to get me to answer the door. Don’t know how that works since they have to key in the time they come to the door.
My hubby ended up having to go and pick up the package this evening. When he tried to give them a piece of his mind, they just shook it off and said that the driver made a mistake and went to the wrong door – no big deal. That’s funny since we have a sign on our mailbox that clearly displays our address. I know that this is a thankless job, but this was lousy service and the support people do not even act interested in solving problems or seeing to it that service improves. If I have a choice of shipping, I choose almost anything over Fed-ex. So, today is gripe day, and here’s to being FED UP WITH FED-EX!
We are half-way though the month of Sept. We are still having temps in the mid 90s and sometimes upper 90s. Summer is trying to hang on forever it seems. Hope your gardens are happy!
