At the beginning of this year when I was deciding on what quilts I would be working on, I forgot all about the Christmas one I started years ago but never finished. I use it “as is” but pack it away after Christmas. I have pulled it out, cleaned, and pressed it.
It was meant to be a wall hanging and was done in my (better) cross-stitching days. The pattern is from a pamphlet filled with great designs. I love them all, but especially the reindeer and Santas. There are snowmen/women but they don’t have much color to them. I will have to dig out the patterns along with the Santas I have stitched.
I just love this design! It is so whimsical…
Happy Gardening and may all of your projects continue to progress!

The style of the cute reindeer looks very familiar! I worked in a needlework store and collected a lot of cross stitch books…… I think you should finish it!
Hi, Deb. I think the reindeer design was published in the mid 1990s-will have to find it. I especially like the Leisure Arts Christmas books. Yes, I think it needs to be finished, too, but I am not sure how I want to do it now. Take care!
I agree! It is darling..I have not made a lot of progress but I did make a couple of tree ornaments out of cloth. The first was a disaster and so funny looking the three others are better and I will be sending them to my little grandson’s..
Hi, Roberta. I’m so glad you got to make some projects. I’m sure your grandsons will love them. I haven’t finished any of the things I was working on before last Christmas. I need to find some real desire to get things done this winter to use next Christmas. Take care!
That really is a darling design and your work looks so good. I never was good at cross stitch and I admire it so much.
Thank you, Lillian. I love this project. It is one of my favorites if not THE favorite Christmas one. Hope you are not getting too much cold and snow. Take care!
I just love cross-stitch and did alot in my “better days…haha!
I worked on 32 ct linen, which is probably why I stopped when my eyes aged a bit. Your work is beautiful…thanks for sharing.
Hope you are doing well…your blog is beautiful too 🙂
Hey, Bee. Thanks. It looks cold on my blog which fits us today but with no snow. Our high may reach 40 degrees if we are lucky but with wind and down to 18 degrees tonight—I love it! I bet your cross-stitch was beautiful–32 count is so small. I usually worked in 14, 18, and very few 22 count. Yeah, I have a hard time with eyes, too. I am doing the best I can-still have some pain that might be from the wreck, but I cannot complain. I am so blessed. Take care!
