🙂 My rock roots are showing through…
When the world and I were young,
Just yesterday.
Life was such a simple game,
A child could play.
It was easy then to tell right from wrong.
Easy then to tell weak from strong.
When a man should stand and fight,
Or just go along.
But today there is no day or night
Today there is no dark or light.
Today there is no black or white,
Only shades of gray.
I remember when the answers seemed so clear
We had never lived with doubt or tasted fear.
It was easy then to tell truth from lies
Selling out from compromise
Who to love and who to hate,
The foolish from the wise.
But today there is no day or night
Today there is no dark or light.
Today there is no black or white,
Only shades of gray.
[Instrumental interlude]
It was easy then to know what was fair
When to keep and when to share.
How much to protect your heart
And how much to care.
But today there is no day or night
Today there is no dark or light.
Today there is no black or white,
Only shades of gray.
Only shades of gray.

Shades of gray…sometimes it is simple…sometimes it isn’t.
Happy Gardening and may your week be so very blessed! 😀
You are awesome! I love the Monkees 🙂 Yep, sometimes it’s simple, sometimes it’s not. Yesterday, Simon & Garfunkel – today, the Monkees. Who’d have thought God would use these to minister 🙂 My favorite Monkees song is “Daydream Believer” 🙂 Blessings! Ann
Thanks (giggle) but I can’t take the credit–God… 😀 . It is amazing how He will use things that are so far from where we think He will be–I understand your meaning completely 🙂 . Best of luck through your valley. Prayers…and smiles 🙂 . Take care! – Amy 😀
I used to love the Monkees! They were my favorite (right behind the Beatles). Great song – very appropriate for today! Thank you so much for sharing. Hope you’re doing well … I am getting better every day! Blessings, Amy! 🙂 Dave
I loved them, too… Saturday mornings were when I used to watch them. The music has remained with me. Glad you are getting better!!! 😀 I am good–so very blessed 🙂 . Dave, take care of yourself!
First, my oldest daughter loved the Monkees, then the second daughter who was born when Nancy was 16 loved them, and since then my now-26-year-old granddaughter loves them. They definitely having staying power.

You said it all! Never would I think something–someone from my childhood would still have a presence today. It just goes to show that your daughters and granddaughter have excellent taste 😉 lol. Take care of yourself! 😀
