Time to write about a certain “faction” (for lack of a better term) within the US–only a shadowy glimpse. A certain lawyer turned preacher has passed away or that is what I understand. From my perspective, he was very bigoted and hateful which seems to be the most ironic thing coming from someone who professed to be Christian. I am trying not to find fault but it is very difficult.
There are people who have steered away from any religion—all faiths—because of the words from this man–so much pain he and his followers have inflicted—so many bad seeds they have planted. I was shocked to see how proud they were of themselves for doing such–pride in telling people that God hates us. If this man was trying to bring “justice” to the world, he succeeded in ways I don’t believe he meant to. But if he was trying to further Christianity or his beliefs, I believe he failed. Rather ironic in several ways.

My heart hurts not just for what he did but more of what he could have done—good things—but he abused his leadership—his power. I want to scream! I must grab myself before I let the hate consume me. Hate grows and it feeds—it consumes everything in its path. We can control it but we choose to feed the beast—well, often times we do.
I think he narrowed my focus and helped me to see that we cannot judge others—really judge. We have—HAVE—to extend a hand and not shout from the sidewalks. We can’t think of ourselves as perfect and believe we are the only right things in life. We should be willing to stand with a brother or sister, ALL of them and not say no because we believe they are “unclean.”
We can choose to help others or we can choose to hinder. I have this belief that if we begin to show kindness all of the time then the hate has less food to eat and will wither from starvation.
How would you want to be treated? Whatever your faith or religion, or absence of, no one deserves to be treated with lack of respect. We need to quit being hateful…even to those who spread hate. 🙂 Hugs…
Blessings… 😀
I have not heard about this man’s passing but do believe I know who you are referring to..To profess to be but yet teaching to hate and indoctrinate children to this is way of thinking. We are to be in the world but not of it and that goes for our behavior, our speech and how we live our lives.. We are to reflect Christ in us..God help us!
🙂 Yes…. You know. Please take care!
Ok! Thank you and you too..
i get what you’re saying…it’s very sad that a minister of the “good news” would cause strife and hatred…
i’ve heard time and time again, “the worst part of deception is not knowing you’re deceived”…how sad that no one can hear or see what the truth is about their so-called mission and what they’re spewing out…
i don’t want to add to the judgmental jargon of what i’ve read about this guy, but this i know, he WILL face his maker one day and that’s the REAL judge, and i pity him for what he may hear…SMH
you’re so right, we need to be examples of love, grace and compassion…let’s hope we don’t ever get as blinded as this poor man was…
thanks for the post…i’m sure you’re one of many who are feeling the frustration of this man’s footsteps…
peace out… 🙂
🙂 I wish we all understood your words especially.. “we need to be examples of love, grace and compassion…” Those are so important I believe.
When we choose contempt, we breed contempt, Hatred breeds hatred and other things that lead to it. Unfortunately many who “preach” love and mercy also shout for the death of others with no forgiveness. 🙂 I have to ask myself if anyone is better than another? More righteous? More “saved?” “No,” is my answer but I can see where people would disagree. We are each on a different path.
I wish each of us would walk with someone who we think is lost and not preach to them but to walk hand and hand with them. Only when we see each other as equals do we learn from the other. Sad that we have the capability and it is sorrowful that we have the ability to make peace.
Thanks for sharing. It means a lot. Sorry for getting carried away. I’ve not always been this way. Love is more merciful and forgiving than I realized. 😀 Take care! 🙂
never apologize for your thoughts…your heart shows through your words…that’s key, right? 🙂
i did appreciate all that you said, and without a doubt agree…i try to check myself constantly and keep accountable to others b/c we try to hold ourselves to a standard of those exact words (we do our best lol)…but never be ashamed of having a beautiful heart of all those things…though some may try to stamp out your words or acts of love, we answer to the One who knows our hearts better than any human…
i hope i didn’t sound harsh or condemning…it would have been simpler if i just said “i agree” lololol…thanks for understanding…have a blessed week!
Chuckle, chuckle. 😀 No, not harsh or condemning. I agree 🙂 especially the heart. Thanks. You too! 🙂
thanx 🙂
